Happy new year!
This is the time of year for New Year’s resolutions. Most of which will revolve around getting in shape with a personal trainer. I believe most resolutions to lose weight and get stronger are only an excuse not to workout and eat what they want over the holidays. If you believe that you fall into this category embrace it, acknowledge it. It’s okay most people do it. As a result, most gyms during this time of year will capitalize on it. They will sell the idea of being fit. But what you need is consistency. You can be consistent anywhere. You do not necessary need to go to the gym. You would be better off committing to doing 10 pushups and running or walking one mile as long as you do it consistently.
Two to three times a week will be fine as long as you stick to a clean diet 80 percent of the time.
Consistency is the key. If joining a gym and working with a personal trainer will help you keep consistent, then go for it. But you have to be realistic. Don’t join a gym if in two weeks you’ll stop going. Your exercise sessions will stop but your payments will not.
