Keeping consistent with your training and nutrition is the most vital part of maintaining your health. We are coming up on the holiday season and it will become a challenge for many of us to keep up with our exercise, nutritional and workout program. Here are a few ideas to keep you on track.

Find a buddy to help you stay on track.

A friend that is exercising and eating right can be your best ally during times that you may want to drop off. Together, you can complete team training and boot camp workouts to maintain a workout program that is successful for the both of you.

Write it down and plan.  

When you write down and plan your exercise and food, you are much more likely to stick to it. You do not necessarily have to write it down every time, however, when you know you are going through a stretch where sticking to your exercise and nutrition can be tough, jot it down. It will help.

Keep it simple.

When you are dreading the idea of going to the gym for an hour, cut the time.  Tell yourself you’ll just spend 30 minutes that day.  You may be surprised how much you can get done. When you don’t have the time to make that super healthy meal, keep it simple by just making a salad. You can also have a protein shake on occasion. But make sure you plan it. Otherwise, you may seek out an unhealthy alternative.

Don’t kick yourself when you are down. 

If you miss a workout or eat something that you probably shouldn’t, don’t dwell on it.  Just follow the above steps and make a better decision next time.
